Overview

What do you get when you combine an SUV, batteries, 3 solar panels, 10 chairs, 5 tables, a tent, and 15 Intel-powered classmate PCs? The "mobile computer classroom." The Maendeleo Foundation established this initiative to show students in Uganda that computers are within their reach. The program aims to give children new skills that can lead to a more promising future, and ultimately create local job opportunities. The program is even being used as a model by other NGOs.
