Overview

To effectively move towards becoming a knowledge-based society, a nation’s students must have access to quality education. Information and technology must work hand in hand to provide them with solutions adequate to their specific needs in this regard. Mexico, with its more than 100 million inhabitants, has the largest Spanish speaking population in the world. According to figures from the World Bank, approximately 40% live in poverty and 18% live in extreme poverty, earning less than one dollar a day. Nevertheless, Mexico has the 14th largest economy worldwide and is second in Latin America. In order to improve these conditions and boost a developing economy, steps need to be taken in order to let children, the workers of the future, be more competitive in this ever changing climate.
